Beta 2 - Asmodian Adventures

Okay, it's been much delayed but it's time to give a visual tour around the lands of Asmodae.

On the Asmodian side I decided to make Scout, with the intention of turning her into an Assassin at level 10.

As an Asmodian, you start off in the zone of Ishalgen (shown above) as a member of the Ulgorn Raiders.

The quests in this area are fairly similar to the Elyos side (the overall structure of the quests are fairly similar as well, with some similar themes.

The biggest difference is that instead of getting a vision of your forgotten past, as you do with the Elyos, you see a vision of your supposed future. I have no idea if this will have further repercussions as each faction's storyline continues.

You start off in the Adelle Basin. It's a pretty wide open area with a small quest hub around the northern end of the road. There isn't too much out here though but some ruins and monsters in need of killing. This is less an introduction to the zone as it is to the storyline and Raider society.

And the personalities within it.

I managed to get a shot of Aion's ding animation while leveling my scout. I figured I'd toss this up here as well because it looks pretty damned cool.

Photobucket
Next Stop Adelle Village where you can meet Ulgorn. This will be your main quest hub. You'll probably find it a good idea to set your Return to this place for a while.

Photobucket
Some of the quests from Adelle Village will send you to Tunapre Lake.

Photobucket
Something else to point out while we're here. When playing as an Asmodian, when you enter combat stance your eyes begin to glow red. This only stops when you leave combat.

Eventually though your questlines will send you through Munihele Forest. While this area looks really cool, I didn't really find TOO much here worth noting.

Photobucket
There is an old witch here though that gives you your first vision of the future.

Photobucket
Moving on we hit Anturoon Crossing. This is mostly a wide open zone with a lot of roaming monsters. Some are passive, while others will begin to attack you first.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Oh and did I forget to mention there are Pirates? Because there's fuckin' pirates!

Your quests will branch off into two areas from here. You can do these areas mostly in any order, but I'll show you the prison first as it's more efficient if you go there first.

Welcome to the Ishalgen prison...or rather the remains of it. It's said that there was a large prisonbreak here that left the building in ruins. The area is populated by ghosts and ghouls of innocents that were slain in the prison break. The warden that failed in his duties to warn the local villagers roams this area as a ghost and you must help him move on in one quest.

The other area is the Odella Plantation where you're sent to actually do some raiding. This area is basically farmland for the Mau, which are a race of catlike humanoids. Either way, they're gathering food and you're there to take it.

Photobucket
The last series of quests will send you to Dubaro Vine Canyon. The entrance to this area is shown above.

Photobucket
Photobucket
The canyon area is pretty cool and it eventually leads to a cave system where the Mau are amassing.

Photobucket
You'll also save Ulgorn's brat of a daughter from getting herself skinned alive.

Photobucket
Photobucket
In the end you'll earn yourself a view of more of your destiny with another cutscene of your character in the Abyss. This is similar to the Elyos one, but ultimately has a different opponent and different animations. Just sit back and enjoy it.

Afterwards, you'll get your quest to visit Pandaemonium and ascend to Daevahood. You'll automatically hit level 10 at this point even if you weren't ready to from pure exp.

I should also note that the images in this entry were taken from different points along the leveling curve. Thus, some of the early environmental images will show my Assassin in her gear as the beta ended, as opposed to her starting outfit and weapons.
